Old Timers Day Returns Saturday with Full Day of Events in Downtown Dickson
Dickson, TN — One of Dickson’s most anticipated annual traditions returns this Saturday, May 2, as the 67th Annual Old Timers Day Festival takes over historic downtown with a full schedule of family-friendly events, live music, and community celebrations.
This year’s theme, “Old Time Religion,” sets the tone for a day that blends tradition, local culture, and small-town pride, beginning early in the morning and continuing throughout the afternoon.
The day kicks off with the Dickson Civitan Pancake Breakfast from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Dickson First Methodist Church, offering residents a chance to start the day with a community favorite before heading downtown.
Live entertainment begins at 8:00 a.m. on North Main Street with performances from The Fiddle Sisters, one of several groups scheduled to perform throughout the day as part of a diverse music lineup. Additional performers include Oakmont Elementary School, Quest Center musicians, Emmanuel Church of Charlotte, New Day Church, Christian Faith Center, The Millers, and special guest Dixie Travelers.
Families will find plenty to do throughout the day, with the Kids Zone opening at 10:00 a.m. behind the War Memorial Building, directly in front of the Dickson Police Department. A special session from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. will be reserved for children with special needs. Activities include a pony carousel, petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, and a bounce house.
The highlight of the day, the Old Timers Day Parade, begins at 10:00 a.m., with participants lining up earlier at 9:00 a.m. in the Dickson County High School parking lot. This year’s Grand Marshal is Dr. Randy Ramey, Senior Pastor of New Day Church, who will lead the parade through downtown.
Parade judges for this year’s event include Paula Eleazer, Patricia Terry, and Paul Pitney.
Following the parade, activities continue across downtown with attractions at the Clement Railroad Hotel & Museum. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., visitors can enjoy the DC Artist Guild Art Show and free admission to museum exhibits. A “Little Train” attraction will also operate in front of The Clement from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Festivalgoers can also expect to encounter Old Timers Day characters wandering throughout the event, adding to the historic atmosphere and community feel.
With events spread throughout downtown Dickson—from North and South Main Street to the War Memorial area—the festival offers something for all ages, from early morning breakfast to afternoon activities.
Organizers encourage residents to make plans to attend, arrive early for the parade, and spend the day enjoying one of Dickson’s longest-running traditions.
