Dickson County School Employees to Receive Four Personal Days
Dickson, TN — Employees of Dickson County Schools will receive four personal or professional leave days under policy changes approved by the Dickson County Board of Education.
The board approved the revisions during its July 23 meeting to bring the district’s sick leave and personal leave policies into compliance with a new Tennessee law.
District officials emphasized that the change does not increase the total number of leave days employees receive. Instead, it reallocates existing leave by increasing the number designated for personal or professional use.
Under the previous policy, employees received two personal days along with sick leave accumulated throughout the year. The revised policies provide four personal or professional days while reducing the number of days classified as sick leave by two.
“The total number” of leave days remains the same, officials told the board.
The changes were incorporated into Policy 5.302, which covers sick leave, and Policy 5.303, which addresses personal and professional leave.
Both policies were approved on first reading without opposition. They will return to the board for a second reading before becoming final.
