Dickson Fire Station #2 Officially Enters Construction Phase
Dickson, TN — Plans for a new Dickson Fire Department station moved beyond the planning stage and into the construction phase on January 5th, 2026, as the Dickson City Council unanimously approved a series of actions advancing Fire Station #2 from design to build-out.
The council approved a project addendum authorizing design services for the new station and training center, along with a Construction Manager at Risk contract with Nabholz Construction Corp. to oversee construction.
City Administrator David Travis said the city plans to construct a 6,000-square-foot fire station and training center on 7.28 acres located on Marshall Stuart Drive. The property was donated to the city by The Jackson Foundation, eliminating land acquisition costs for the project.
The approval of a Construction Manager at Risk contract signals a key transition for the project, moving it from design and planning into active preparation for construction. Under this delivery method, the construction manager is involved early in the process to help manage costs, scheduling, and coordination as the project progresses.
The new station will serve as Dickson Fire Department Station #2 and will also include space dedicated to firefighter training, expanding the department’s operational and instructional capacity.
All votes related to Fire Station #2 were approved unanimously.
The council’s action on Jan. 5 places the fire station among the city’s most advanced capital projects currently moving forward. Additional steps related to construction and financing are expected as the project continues to develop.
The City Council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2. Regular council meetings are broadcast on the Community Access Channel on Comcast 19.
