Dickson County High School Roof Repair Figures Expected in October

Dickson, TN — Dickson County Schools officials expect to present figures for repairs to a damaged section of the Dickson County High School roof next month, following an earlier report that the damage was more extensive than anticipated.

During the September school board meeting, the director of schools, Dr. Christie Southerland, said she had met that afternoon about the DCHS roof and that information on the numbers would be presented in October. She did not give the board a cost estimate at the meeting.

The update follows an August planning session in which administrators said the section of roof under examination had more damage than they initially expected. The district has not yet publicly detailed the full extent of the damage or a repair plan.

That leaves several questions for the October presentation: how much of the roof needs work, what repairs will cost, where the money will come from and when the work could begin. Officials also have not said whether leaks or other roof problems have affected classrooms or school operations.
