Nashville State Dickson Campus Moves to Permanent Home Ahead of Fall 2026 Expansion
Dickson, TN — Dickson County’s access to higher education is about to take a major step forward as Nashville State Community College prepares to open its new permanent campus location next month.
Beginning Monday, March 9, 2026, Nashville State’s Dickson campus will operate out of the Dickson Center of Higher Education, located at 2575 Highway 46 South, adjacent to the TriStar Horizon Natchez campus.
The move transitions the college from its temporary arrangement inside TriStar Horizon Medical Center into a dedicated academic facility designed to serve a growing number of local students.
Expanded Student Services
The new campus will include a full range of student support resources, including:
A Welcome Center for admissions and financial aid assistance
Student account services and academic advising
Food and personal item assistance programs
Student lounges and study areas
A testing center for math and English placement
College officials say the goal is to provide a “one-stop” environment where students can enroll, receive support, and complete coursework without leaving the county.
Classes Begin This Spring
Although the full academic rollout is scheduled for fall, the campus will begin limited instruction this spring.
The second seven-week term starts March 16, offering courses in:
Biology
Communications
English
History
Music
Psychology
Additional on-campus courses will begin during the summer semester on May 26.
Nashville State will continue offering both its traditional 15-week semester and accelerated 7-week course model, allowing students to earn credits more quickly.
New Programs Coming to Dickson
Beginning in August, students will gain access to Nashville State’s general education programs at the new campus.
The college also plans to launch an EMT program, pending state approval.
Meanwhile, the college’s first local nursing cohort — which began in January at TriStar Horizon Medical Center — will relocate to the new campus in August once facilities are fully operational.
A Local Higher Education Hub
The Dickson Center of Higher Education is expected to become a central training pipeline for healthcare and workforce programs in the region, allowing residents to complete college coursework and career certification programs locally rather than commuting to Nashville.
College leaders say the campus expansion is designed to improve college access, accelerate credential completion, and support workforce development across Dickson County.
