Five-Vehicle Crash On Highway 46 In Dickson Sends Three To Hospital
Dickson, TN — Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 46 near the Bank of Dickson in Pomona late Sunday morning (January 11, 2016), according to the Dickson Police Department.
The crash occurred around 11:15 a.m. and involved five vehicles. Preliminary findings indicate that a black Kia traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lane and struck three vehicles traveling south. A fifth vehicle, also northbound, later collided with debris from the Kia’s engine following the initial impact.
First responders provided medical assistance at the scene, and two individuals required extrication from their vehicles. One victim was airlifted to Nashville for treatment, while another was transported by Dickson EMS to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The driver of the Kia was initially taken to Horizon Medical Center before being transferred by LifeFlight to Skyline Medical Center. Authorities said the remaining drivers involved in the crash were not injured.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. No additional information has been released at this time.
