Dickson Honors State Representative Mary Littleton for 14 Years of Service

Dickson, TN — The City of Dickson recognized state Rep. Mary Littleton for 14 years of service in the Tennessee General Assembly as she prepares to conclude her legislative career.

Mayor Don L. Weiss Jr. presented Littleton with a city proclamation during the Dickson City Council’s July 6, 2026 meeting. Littleton is not seeking reelection to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2026.

Littleton was first elected to represent Tennessee House District 78 on Nov. 6, 2012, and began her first term on Jan. 8, 2013. She was subsequently reelected in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024, completing seven terms in office.

During her tenure, Littleton represented eastern Dickson County and Cheatham County in the General Assembly.

Weiss said cooperation among municipal, county and state officials is important to serving local residents. He described Littleton as a dependable partner who responded when city officials sought assistance from the state.

“Mary has been a great friend to the City of Dickson, responding to all our calls and always willing to take on any issue that we brought to her,” Weiss said. “We will miss her representing us in the General Assembly.”

The proclamation recognized Littleton for representing the citizens of Dickson with responsibility and integrity throughout her time in office. It also thanked her for her dedication to the city, Dickson County and the 78th District.

Littleton thanked city officials and said it had been an honor to represent the district.

“We did a lot of things together,” Littleton said. “I like to say, when you go to Nashville, there is no ‘I.’ It’s all ‘we.’”

Littleton said cooperation among officials helped produce results for the communities she represented.

“We’ve all worked together for the benefit of Dickson County and the 78th District,” she said.

Littleton will remain in office through the conclusion of her current term.
